Platelet-rich plasma therapy: Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy is a procedure where the doctor withdraws the patient’s own blood and processes it in a centrifuge. The centrifuge separates the contents of the blood, concentrating the platelets from other cells. After extracting the PRP, the doctor injects it into the degenerated or diseased joints, muscles, tendons or ligaments.

PRP contains certain properties that trigger the healing of the degenerated tissue. As we age, our body degenerates due to lack of blood flow to that area, therefore, PRP helps to deliver blood flow to degenerated structures and helps them to heal.

Pain relief may not be immediate, but having said that, PRP therapy can be very effective in treating acute and chronic pain caused by arthritis, osteoarthritis, and injuries.

Cell therapy: Much like PRP treatment, cell therapy works the same way except that in addition to the plasma, healing cells from your bone marrow or fat are also extracted. These cells help in the regeneration of different types of tissue, including tendons, ligaments, bones, and cartilage.

Prolotherapy and Neural Prolotherapy: Prolotherapy is a nonsurgical procedure that helps in repairing painful or injured joints, muscles, tendons, ligaments, and nerves. The injury may be caused due to degeneration or it often stems from stretched or torn connective tissues. In prolotherapy, the weakened tissues are repaired by injecting sugar alcohols, into the injured area.

As with other therapies, this too can take a few weeks to show optimal results. This procedure is safe, and effective and does not cause much pain.
